The EcoScope App is a smartphone application that enables citizens to report marine hazards, marine litter, pollution, the removal or stranding of protected species and other environmental concerns they encounter. Each report is submitted with GPS location, optional images, and contextual details, and is automatically forwarded to relevant local authorities, researchers, or marine management bodies based on the category. This community-based tool strengthens public engagement, fosters cooperation between local communities and authorities, and contributes valuable citizen-generated data to the EcoScope project, fisheries managers, and marine policy development across the region.
