EcoScope Modelling Workshop

Start: April 1st, 2024

End: April 3rd, 2024

EcoScope will organise and host a Modelling Workshop as part of Work Package 6. The workshop is a closed event, open to project partners only and is scheduled to take place from April 2 to 4, 2024, in the vibrant city of Palma, Spain.

Led by Gideon Gal from the Kinneret Limnological Laboratory at the Israel Oceanographic and Limnological Research (IOLR), this workshop promises an immersive exploration of critical modelling topics within EcoScope.

Tentative Workshop Topics:

  1. Uncertainty and Deep Uncertainty in Model Results and Scenarios:

    • Quantification and incorporation into scenarios and simulations
    • Case study example of a complete pipeline
  2. Visualising Scenario Results:

    • Techniques and tools for effective scenario result visualisation
  3. Validation and Quantifying Ecospace Results:

    • Validation and quantification methods in Ecospace modelling
  4. Case Study Model Problem Solving:

    • Real-world problem-solving applications in modelling scenarios
  5. MSP Challenge: Model Modifications to Correspond MSP Challenge Requirements:

    • Addressing modelling needs specific to Marine Spatial Planning challenges
  6. Linking Between WP6 and Other WPs:

    • Models and the Ecoscope platform (WP3)
    • Linking simulation results to the Ecoscope toolbox (WP5)
    • The connection between model case studies and social-economic aspects (WP7)
    • Defining scenarios (WP8)

Participant Information:

  • Lead Facilitator: Gideon Gal, Kinneret Limnological Laboratory, IOLR
  • Open Discussion: The workshop encourages active participation and additional topics can be incorporated as needed.

This workshop will provide an opportunity to engage in collaborative problem-solving, explore innovative approaches, and contribute to the ongoing progress of Work Package 6.
