The Fish Forum, known as the GFCM Forum on Fisheries Science in the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, serves as a multidisciplinary platform focusing on crucial aspects of fisheries and their impact on the environment. This event fosters collaboration between scientists and policymakers, encouraging meaningful discussions and joint efforts to generate scientific advice. The Forum spans various perspectives, incorporating oceanographic, social science, and economic dimensions of fisheries research with the ultimate goal of enhancing cooperation and promoting sustainable fishing practices.
The Fish Forum will be held from 19th to 23rd February 2024 in Antalya, Türkiye.
EcoScope Particpication
EcoScope partner, Eva Daskalaki, Scientific Associate, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece gave a presentation entitled "Top predators of the Mediterranean Sea as indices of functional and phylogenetic diversity" as part of Parallel session 2.3: "Effective measures for protecting vulnerable species".
Eva also gave a poster presentation entitled "Measuring the sensitivity of benthic communities in the Aegean Sea".
In addition, Ioannis Karamidas (AUTH) gave a poster presentation entitled "Environmental and fisheries dynamics in the eastern Mediterranean (Aegean Sea)" as part of Theme 2 "Healthy and Sustainable Fisheries".
