Thalassa 2022, International Conference in Cyprus

Aligned with the “Ocean Decade” initiative by the United Nations, the first Thalassa 2022 Conference will take place in Larnaca, Cyprus between 6th and 8th June 2022. This conference aims to establish a regional conference on marine research, and will address critical issues within marine and coastal environments.

This conference will focus on the priorities of the European Union’s blue natural capital, these include marine conservation, marine protected areas, fisheries and aquaculture, oceanography, and the impacts of climate change.

Athanassios Tsikliras, Associate Professor at AUTH and the EcoScope project coordinator will give the keynote on Fisheries and Aquaculture and will present EcoScope in the context of the Mediterranean actions and Aegean case study.
